Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer — Override activity guide

It's Tron time!

The basics

Let’s talk about the basics of the Override activity in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer. Please note that the information below is for the Europa Override location. There’s a chance that the mechanics would be similar for the upcoming locations too.

Bank those motes

Anyway, once you load in, you’ll notice a Vex conflux nearby. Swarms of robots will then materialize, and you’ll need to take them out. Don’t forget to eliminate the champions too.

Killing enemies will drop purple motes. You can collect up to ten of these, and bank them in the conflux to fill up the progress bar. In a way, it really is like past group activities in Destiny 2 since we’re back to the ol’ “fill up the progress bar” routine.

Destroying the Scytale and getting the Data Spike

After destroying the champions, you’ll notice that the Vex portal has been activated. If you go inside, you’ll find yourself in the Vex network.

This is a fairly small area with several mobs, but your goal is to eliminate a daemon called a Scytale (it has a red outline). It’ll drop a Data Spike that you can carry back to the conflux. Banking it adds extra progress.

Note: Banking multiple Data Spikes is actually a requirement for the “Maximum Override” weekly challenge. You’ll want to complete these for the extra Decrypted Data that can be used for your Splicer Gauntlet upgrades and Prismatic focusing options.

Eliminating the blockers and hacking the conflux

Upon reaching a particular threshold in the progress bar, you’ll be notified that blockers have arrived. These are Vex with red outlines (i.e., minotaurs or wyverns). Annihilate them and you’ll see that several glowing nodes have spawned around the conflux. They kinda look like oracles. Just shoot three of them to break the shield.

Once that’s done, you can climb the platforms to reach a panel that’s above you. This will let you hack the conflux. The process will continue until the meter is filled up, so you’ll be banking motes and Data Spikes once more.

All right, let’s talk about the Vex Network and Tacitas boss fight in the next section of our Override guide for Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer.
