Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals has something in store for Guardians. It’s the Moments of Triumph event that coincides with the tail-end of each year. Looks like there’s a major focus on the endgame because of old raids and uncapped raid rewards. You can watch the trailer below.

Destiny 2: Moments of Triumph’s uncapped raid rewards
One particular frame in that video has piqued the interests of many players (myself included). It says “Storm five raids” and “uncapped rewards for raids.”
The five Destiny 2 raids shown in the video are:
- The Leviathan
- Eater of Worlds
- Spire of Stars
- Scourge of the Past
- Crown of Sorrow
These raids are expected to get vaulted once Destiny 2‘s Beyond Light expansion goes live in September. I guess we can think of the Moments of Triumph as a last hurrah before we see them again in the future.
Previously, the raid rewards were capped (when they dropped) based on the season they were introduced in, although you could still infuse some items to have higher power levels. As has been the case in Destiny 2, you can only get one drop per encounter.
Now, though, we’ll see “uncapped raid rewards.” This simply means that the weekly lockout for drops has been removed for these five raids. You can continue to farm for the stuff that you need.
Keep in mind that weapon/item sunsetting will take effect at the end of the Season of Arrivals. We know that Last Wish and Garden of Salvation rewards won’t be “sunsetted,” so it remains to be seen if we’re just farming old raids for gear that will, eventually, not even reach a season’s hard cap.
In any case, Destiny 2 just had a big update on Steam and the servers are at capacity, so we’ll keep you posted with more developments. Be sure to stay tuned for our Moments of Triumph guide which will be available shortly.
Destiny 2 Update 2.9.1 has begun rolling out across all platforms and regions.
Ongoing Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude at 4 PM PDT.
