There’s a new secret exotic that you can discover in Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen. It’s the Dead Man’s Tale scout rifle, and it’s the reward after completing “The Presage” quest. However, you do need to beat the final boss called the Locus of Communion. Thankfully, there are ways to make the encounter a lot easier. Here’s our guide to help you cheese the Locus of Communion boss fight.

Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen – How to cheese the Locus of Communion boss fight
Once you’ve reached the end of the Glykon derelict ship, you’ll see a spot that lets you plant a raid banner. That’s your sign that the Locus of Communion is nearby. Anyway, this was my loadout for this encounter:
- Kinetic – Succession sniper rifle
- Energy – Shadow Price auto rifle
- Power – The Lament exotic sword
You could try other weapons, but these were my picks when I defeated the boss. The sniper rifle (preferably something that rolled with Vorpal Weapon) is your main source of DPS. The auto rifle, meanwhile, is for mob clearing (the Shadow Price is Arc which is useful against Arc-shielded Scorn chieftains). Lastly, The Lament is also for mobs since the blocking combined with healing does help out. There are some Solar-shielded chieftains, too, which makes it helpful.
All right, let’s go ahead and discuss the encounter itself. You can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with:
