Destiny 2 Grasp of Avarice dungeon guide – The Water Tower and the Scorch Cannon
This is the third part of our Destiny 2 Grasp of Avarice dungeon guide where we’ll discuss the water tower puzzle and the use of the Scorch Cannon.
Getting the Scorch Cannon and using it
This is a circular room with several walkways and ledges, with sections marked from #1 to #4. First, go to #4 and interact with the terminal there. Upon activation, a number will light up (#3). Head to that section, clear the mobs, and activate the terminal.
Keep doing this until you reach the final section (#1) where a yellow-bar Vandal spawns. Take it out and pick up the Scorch Cannon.
Fire the Scorch Cannon at the Ether Tank device and make sure you hold down the trigger button. You need to fully charge your shot (denoted by a brighter flash and louder pings). Let go of the button to cause an explosion that activates the device, opening the door with a staircase. Watch out for the giant rolling barrel that’ll flatten you.
In the darkened room past the stairs, you’ll find a small room with another Wilhelm-7 Recording (there’s a floor panel that you want to avoid). You should also see a shaft that’ll take you to the next boss. Lastly, this particular area has the second Reaver Vandal in case you’re trying to get the Gjallarhorn Catalyst.
Now that you’re done, it’s time to face the first boss. Let’s talk about how you can defeat Phry’zhia the Insatiable in the next part of our Destiny 2 Grasp of Avarice dungeon guide.
