Destiny 2 first launched in 2017, and has grown significantly with the various DLCs added over the years. Bungie does what it can to keep the community together, but paywalls still exist that separate players from enjoying some content together. Fortunately, that issue is about to end for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. At today’s Xbox Games Showcase, it was revealed that Destiny 2 and all its DLC will join the Game Pass library later this year. To top things off, the upcoming Beyond Light DLC will also be part of the deal. That’s a whole lotta Destiny 2 content.
Ice, ice baby
As part of Xbox’s event, Bungie also released the “Stasis” gameplay trailer for the upcoming expansion, Beyond Light. Stasis is a new elemental power coming to Destiny 2, which can be used in numerous ways. The trailer shows Guardians using it to build huge walls, shatter enemies and encase groups of foes in ice. The developers intend to use Stasis in Beyond Light in different ways, depending on your player class. Titans, Warlocks and Hunters each use Stasis to deal different types of devastation in the upcoming expansion. Hopefully, Bungie will show us what each class can do with the new Stasis element in the run up to launch.
Beyond Light launches for Destiny 2 on November 10, following a short delay from its initial September 22 release date. Bungie stated that this was due to complications that arose after the team switched to remote work earlier this year.
All of the Destiny 2 DLC drops onto Game Pass this September, so new players will have plenty to stay busy with until November 10. Whether more expansions are added to the Game Pass version of Destiny 2 in the future remains to be seen. Regardless, Bungie has big plans for the future of Destiny 2, so expect several more years of content down the line.
