Destiny 2 Dares of Eternity guide – Valus Ta’aurc boss fight

Recommended Videos

Let’s talk about the Valus Ta’aurc boss fight in the Dares of Eternity activity in Destiny 2. It gets unlocked if you step on the Cabal plate at the center. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly sure if it’s triggered based on how many players step on it or whoever steps on a plate first.

Attack Valus Ta’aurc at the start of the battle. Whether you wanted it or not, he’ll just shield himself in a short while.

For the next stage, you’ll want to eliminate Cabal majors with the Siegebringer tag. There are 12 of them in total.

Once that part is done, you’ll see two shield generators next to Valus Ta’aurc. To destroy these, you’ll need to defeat enemies that will drop cores/orbs. As usual, throw the orbs at the generators.

With the boss’ shield gone, just take him out as quickly as you can. After beating him, Xur and Starhorse will reappear, along with a chest that contains your rewards (i.e., Strange Coins).

Note 1: If this is your first Dares of Eternity clear, then make sure to visit Xur’s Treasure Hoard to obtain rewards and bounties. Likewise, this will unlock exotic quests for the Gjallarhorn and Forerunner.

Note 2: It’s possible to experience a special encounter called the Lightning Round after beating the boss.
