As those who played the first game (on … other formats) will know, Destiny is not just about co-operative play. Like the original, Destiny 2 will feature The Crucible; a place to test out your 4v4 competitive multiplayer skills.
Since this a sequel, there will of course be “new 4v4 modes and maps”. Three modes are mentioned in the press blurb accompanying the trailer release. They’re hyping up “conquering the zones in ‘Control’, fighting to attack or defend a detonation in ‘Countdown’, or outlasting your opponents in ‘Survival’.” I didn’t play the first game so I’m afraid I don’t know which of those are new and which are just returning.
Destiny 2 has a later release schedule on PC. The beta (for those who pre-ordered) will begin on 28 August, and the game will be out on 24 October.
