Deathloop Official Gameplay Walkthrough 10 Minutes

Deathloop gameplay walkthrough trailer is nearly 10 minutes of stealth and murder

And that's just how I like it.

Colt certainly seems like a very direct person. He’s the kind of guy who wants to look his victims in the eye, even if they’re staring in the opposite direction. Earlier today, we got a new gameplay walkthrough trailer for Deathloop, featuring plenty of gun play and stealth action. It follows the protagonist Colt, who uses special, totally-not-Dishonored abilities to zip around combat areas and twist enemy heads completely around. He’s a badass, and isn’t a big fan of showing mercy.

But what do you expect of an assassin who’s getting a little tired of dying and starting from scratch all over again? In the Deathloop walkthrough trailer, we watch through Colt’s eyes as he tackles a typical day. Reviving once again on a beach, he sets out after his target: Aleksis “The Wolf” Dorsey.

Dying and starting over again in Deathloop has a rogue-lite quality. Information you learn in a previous run can be used in subsequent attempts. The narrator, Arkane’s Game Director Dinga Bakaba, explains that Colt came across some valuable intel in a prior life. Using this information, Colt makes his way to Dorsey’s little nightclub, a place where people boast of evil deeds on stage. Impress the crowd and you live, otherwise… you’re lunch.

Breaking the loop

The trailer shows off many abilities that Colt can use. He can warp across distances or use his mind to life or hurl enemies. Weapons are scattered about in an almost comical extent, but it means you’re rarely without means to attack or defend yourself. Pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifles are at your disposal, assuming they’re not going to jam on you during unfortunate moments.

If they do, well, then you might end up back on that beach. Of course, Colt can use a power called Reprise that allows him to die and rewind time to when he was still alive. There is a caveat, however, in that he can only use it twice. Still, it’s certainly powerful in a game where weapons and gear gets lost with each final death. During the game, Colt is also being targeted by the assassin Julianna, who can either be controlled by another player or by the AI. I’d take the latter, any day. Yikes.

So far, the game is looking fantastic. Check out the gameplay walkthrough trailer for Deathloop above and get ready to plan your next hunt.
