Deathloop: How to find Fia’s pictograms and disable the reactor

Kablooey!

Fia is one of the members of AEON. She happens to have control of a nuclear reactor inside a bunker. If you’re not careful, you could get yourself wiped out completely. Oh, and you also need to find several pictograms while you’re at it. Here’s our Deathloop guide so you can find Fia’s pictograms, disable her nuclear reactor, and eliminate her in the Fractured Image area of Fristad Rock. This is part of a questline called “Afternoon Delight.”

Deathloop AEON Visionary boss guide – Where to find Fia’s pictograms and how to disable the nuclear reactor

You’ll receive the “Afternoon Delight” quest in Deathloop after reaching Charlie’s room in Updaam. You’ll see a photo of the two and the clue tells you that they have a safe house somewhere in Fristad Rock (afternoon). Assuming you’ve visited that place already, then you’ll know that there’s a mainframe that requires you to input a code sequence comprised of different pictograms. You’ll receive the clues from the Yehrva fortune teller safe in Karl’s Bay.

The pictograms themselves are found inside Fia’s base in Fristad Rock called Fractured Image (noon). It’s immediately to the right once you exit the tunnels. Oh, and as far as I know, most numerical codes differ from one player to the next. It’s possible that pictogram codes are randomized as well.

You can enter Fia’s base in Deathloop by using the main entrances. Alternatively, you can traverse the crane to reach the high cliffs. There are some doorways here that will lead you to the base.

I should warn you, though, that you cannot get discovered here since that will cause guards to raise the alarm.

When this happens, Fia will activate the reactor core’s meltdown. The entire Fristad Rock zone will explode after 60 seconds. This is an actual death for Colt, which means Reprise isn’t taken into consideration. You will restart the entire day if this occurs.

Note 1: The biggest problem you’ll have here is if you’re already inside the base and Julianna spawns to hunt you down. She will cause enemies to converge on your position, leading to the sirens blaring instantly. If you want, you can stay outside for a bit while waiting for Julianna to begin her hunt. If you can fight Julianna outside the base, Fia won’t start the self-destruct sequence.

Note 2: The Aether Slab from Egor is also invaluable when sneaking past guards. It lets you turn invisible temporarily.

How do we disable the nuclear reactor’s detonation?

First, you’ll need to enter the workshop which is a room to the right of the main entrance area. There, you’ll find a schematic on the table telling you how the detonation can be averted.

You’ll need to cut the wires in this order: red -> blue -> green -> yellow. Again, things might be different per player, so just take a look at what you see in-game.

Next, stealthily make your way past the guards and cameras. Once you reach the research area with the reactor, check out the panel on its opposite side. You should be able to open it with your Hackamajig. Just cut the wires in the order shown in the schematics.

Note: If you do this with the alarms already blaring, that’s fine. However, if you can kill Fia without triggering an alarm and with the reactor disabled, you’ll get an achievement, too.

Where are Fia’s pictogram?

We’ll need to find and interact with four pictograms in Fia’s base in Deathloop. You might see several in the area, but most don’t actually count. Anyway, there are clues based on the wording if you check the tooltips. Here are the ones that I found:

  • Pictogram #1: It lubricates the shaft – There’s an elevator shaft to the right of the workshop near the main entrance.
  • Pictogram #2: Beneath the wheeled behemoth – Just across the workshop is a ruined tank. Check underneath it for the pictogram.

  • Pictogram #3: It enlivens the lockers – Go to the second floor of the reactor area and find the bathroom. You’ll see it here.
  • Pictogram #4: Tends the main hall – It’s along the main entryway that connects the main entrance to the reactor area.

Rewards for killing Fia in Deathloop

Before I forget, yes, you do need to take out Fia. You’ll find her past the reactor’s section. She’s in the control center chilling on her own. Here are the things you can get:

  • Havoc – Buffs your defenses and kicking power considerably.
  • I believe she also drops a firearm. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take note of it (I don’t even recall picking it up).

When you’re done, you can go to Charlie’s and Fia’s safe house in Fristad Rock during the afternoon. Enter the pictogram code in the correct order to unlock the door.
