Best party composition in Deathbound
With seven available characters in Deathbound, there are multiple party combinations players can come up with. That said, not all combinations work well together. To create a strong build in Deathbound, you want to make sure that you have strong Synergy between characters. Having high Synergy adds buffs for your party, increases stats, and makes all characters stronger overall.
The absolute best party combination in Deathbound is Therone, Agharos, Mamdile, and Iulia. Having these four characters equipped will activate the Commanding Officer and Weapons of Death Synergy buffs. The former increases defense by 15%, while the latter grants a +20% Stamina Regen. Below is how you need to align these characters in the Bind Essence grid to unlock the Synergy buffs mentioned.
- Therone: Top
- Agharos: Left
- Mamdile: Bottom
- Iulia: Right
Setting your characters up like that will have complete Synergy throughout your party, granting you the absolute best buffs available in Deathbound.
The Synergy is not the only reason why these four characters are the best party composition, though. They also have the potential to deal the most damage through unlockable skills and have the strongest Morph abilities and most useful Talents.
Best Talents in Deathbound
Talents are unlocked by finding Memory Points scattered across the levels of Deathbound. Considering it’s incredibly challenging to find all Memory Points in the game, we are going to discuss the best Talents to unlock first and foremost. This will help you spend your Memory Points wisely.
Below are the best Talents to unlock for the party composition we discussed earlier:
- Death’s Grace (Therone): Therone’s Morph Strikes have a 15% Life Steal bonus.
- Equal Opportunity Killer (Agharos): Second heavy attack pins smaller enemies down and has bonus attack weight against larger enemies.
- Playing Possum (Iulia): Huntresses Die Twice
- Dance of Death (Mamdile): Perfect dodging briefly increases Madile’s damage by 30%.
Death’s Grace
To start off, we have Therone’s Death Grace Talent. Whenever you use a Morph Strike with Therone, he will receive a 15% Life Steal bonus. This means that Therone can stay in the fight longer, and reduces the amount of healing items you need to use.
Equal Opportunity
Equal Opportunity, Agharos’ Talent, makes him even more of a powerhouse against the enemies you’ll encounter. Using his strong attack two times in a row will pin smaller enemies down and break through the shields and poise of the larger, more difficult foes. This can help with crowd control and dealing more damage overall.
Playing Possum
Iulia’s Playing Possum is arguably the best Talent in the entire game. As you know, if any of your Essence characters die, then it’s game over and you get sent back to the last checkpoint. With Playing Possum equipped, you get a second life when controlling Iulia. If you are struggling and know you’re about to die, switch to Iula to receive a second chance.
Dance of Death
Mamdile’s Dance of Death Talent is extremely useful in maximizing his damage output. Every time you execute a perfect dodge, Madile’s damage increases by a whopping 30%. Considering you will be constantly dodging in Deathbound, Dance of Death can make Mamdile much deadlier when controlling him.
Best skills to unlock in Deathbound
Deathbound has a complex skill tree, where each skill you unlock affects your entire party. Considering our party is made up of Therone, Agharos, Iulia, and Mamdile, we want to focus on unlocking skills that focus on improving their strengths. In other words, it’s smart to focus on increasing Melee Power, Stamina, Defence, and Attack Weight. Additionally, it’s important to unlock Health (more HP) and Synergy Gain skills so you can fill the Synergy Bar Faster.
Melee Power, Attack Weight, and Stamina go hand in hand. Attack Power increases the damage dealt, while Attack Weight disrupts the enemy’s poise and shield. This all leads to killing enemies and bosses faster. Add Stamina to that and you can attack for longer periods. Defense is self-explanatory, where increasing this stat will reduce the amount of damage your characters take.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to unlock Synergy Gain skills. Being able to fill the Synergy bar quicker will allow you to use Morph Strikes and Ultra Morph Strikes more frequently, leading to higher damage output.
I would also recommend unlocking Max Heat skills to increase Mamdile’s heat bar. Every time Mamdile attacks, his heat bar fills up. Once the bar is filled, you will begin to lose stamina exponentially. In this case, it’s wise to increase the maximum heat as much as possible.
Best Artifacts and Rings
Last but not least, a good build requires top-notch Artifacts and Rings. There are tons to be found in the game, but I’ll give you my picks for the best ones that truly make all characters shine.
- Viper’s Eye Patch (Artifact)
- Mystic Bonus: Increase Damage Power when below 50% health.
- Ancient Bonus: Increase Attack Weight against corrupted enemies.
- Chains of Consequence (Artifact)
- Mystic Bonus: Increase in Attack Weight.
- Ancient Bonus: Increase Damage Power against afflicted enemies.
- Ring of the First Rulers (Ring)
- Mystic Bonus: Increase experience gain from enemies.
- Ancient Bonus: Increase item drop rates.
- Merchant Ring (Ring)
- Mystic Bonus: Consuming an item grants increased Morph Strike for X seconds.
- Ancient Bonus: Consuming an item grants increased Sync.
That’s all there is to know about creating the best build in Deathbound. After tons of experimentation, I have had the most luck with this build compared to others and I’m confident it’s strong enough to push you through the endgame!
