Remedy has released Death Rally for free.Death Rally was a top-down arcade racer initially released in 1996 that has players race around tracks and get first either by racing cleanly or by destroying the competition. Cash earned and picked up around the track allowed players to upgrade their cars or partake of a few less-than-legal activities, like sabotaging the cars of opponents. Also: run over spectators. It was brilliant. And now, ported to run on XP, Vista, and Windows 7, it’s absolutely free.Head over to the official page to grab it. That’s my afternoon gone.Remedy is the company that developed Max Payne and Max Payne 2. The team there is currently working on spooky supernatural thriller Alan Wake, which should hit around Spring 2010 and is currently being polished.
