Zombie survival RPG Dead State is the latest Kickstarted game to put out a work-in-progress video. In it, we get to see some of the turn-based combat, the importance of not making too much noise (fighting raises your decibel meter, which can attract unwanted attention,) and some store-raiding activities.

The toilet paper comes into play as a ‘luxury item,’ which (along with other items like soda) can be used to keep morale up back at your home base. Elements of each level will be procedurally generated, so none of the encounters are scripted and each one is likely to be pretty different each time you play.

Developer Brian Mitsoda (who you may remember was a key writer on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines) is your narrative guide for this video footage. Dead State is estimated to be out by the end of this year.
