Dead Space 2 Details Appear

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

A few details on Dead Space 2 have emerged from an employment notice on LinkedIn.The details (spotted, as usual, by industry sleuth superannuation) don’t give us too much to go on, but the post is for a “lead combat designer for the Dead Space franchise on Xbox360 and PS3,” which involves – amongst other things – sorting out combat moves and arenas, the feel of the fighting, and so on and so forth. It’s the company description below that yields a bit more information. “This M-rated action/shooter sequel will set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience,” apparently, which is about what we’d expect, but the description continues.”The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place. We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions. The Games Label at EA is 100% committed to this IP, and has already worked on IP extensions such as comic, animated features, and action figures.”Which, again, doesn’t really give us much to go on, but we’ve known for awhile that more instalments in the franchise were in the works. If you want to know why we’re excited, though, have a read of our review of the original Dead Space.
