By the looks of things, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is shaping up to be a pretty rough and disappointing PC port. We’d already had the news that online play was going to be delayed by up to three months on PC, and now it seems our platform is getting a last-gen port.
Further details about the PC version have emerged by way of NeoGaf, google translation tools, and the Japanese language site GameCity. It doesn’t look too promising.
The information about Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is laid out in a helpful chart, which makes it fairly straightforward to pick out some disappointing aspects.
So, the bad parts: no ‘soft engine’ (the thing that’s supposed to make the fighter’s skins look softer,) PS3 quality particle effects, no extra stages (“Danger Zone” (Lana?) and “The Crimson” won’t be present.)
The alright news: shadows are said to be PS4 quality, 4K resolution support is mentioned.
Basically, it sounds like another Tecmo ‘hybrid’ port, like the last couple of Dynasty Warriors games they’ve brought to PC. A mixture of PS3 and PS4 bits.
Here are the recommended specs:
OS: Windows Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 (32bit / 64bit).
CPU: Core i7 2600 or more.
Memory: More than 4GB.
HD: 10.0GB or more of free space.
GPU: VRAM1.5GB more, more DirecX9.0c.
The suggested GPUs are all Nvidia ones: GeForce GTX 760, GeForce GTX 660, GeForce GTX 750 Ti.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is due on PC from 30 March.
