How to fix Dead Island 2 PS5 crashes

There are several fixes you can try when it comes to Dead Island 2 crashing on PlayStation 5.

Power cycle your PS5

The first potential fix you’ll want to try is to power cycle your PS5. To do this, shut down your console and, after five seconds, unplug it. Wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

After rebooting, your PlayStation 5 will have a fresh start that can get rid of any issues you may have been experiencing.

Update the software

Next, you’ll want to check for a system update. To do this, go to Settings, System Software, then System Software Update and Settings. Make sure your PS5 is as up-to-date as possible.

You’ll also want to check to see if you have the latest version of Dead Island 2. To do this, select the game and press the Start button. From there, press the Check for Updates option. If you don’t have the latest patch of Dead Island 2, you could run into crashes.

Delete and reinstall the game

If you are still experiencing crashes, try deleting Dead Island 2 and redownloading it. This is a simple fix like the power cycle fix, but it can erase the issue you’re having with the game.

With a fresh download of Dead Island 2, you can potentially purge any issues that caused it to crash.

Wait for the devs to fix it

Lastly, if you are receiving the same error messages and crashes, the only thing you can do is wait for the developers to fix their game. While it did take Deep Silver Dambuster Studios more than a decade to make Dead Island 2, hopefully, it won’t take them that long to fix any terminating errors like those that cause PS5 crashes.
