Best Aestri & Baermar “Troupe” Perks in DBD

Collectively known as the “Troupe”, Aestri and Baermar are Bards from the D&D universe with unique Perks. Although they come with three Perks of their own, they may not be best suited for their build. Let’s quickly go over the Perks that Aestri and Baermar come with:

PerkDescription
Bardic InspirationPress the Active Ability button while standing and motionless to enter the Performance interaction that lasts up to 15 seconds and empowers other Survivors within 16 meters of your location.
The empowering effect depends on the result of you rolling a d20 and lasts for 90 seconds after completing the Performance:
1: You scream, but without notifying the Killer.
2 – 10: Skill Checks grant +1 % Progression.
11 – 19: Skill Checks grant +2 % Progression.
20: Skill Checks grant +3 % Progression.
Bardic Inspiration has a cool-down of 110/100/90 seconds after completing the Performance or canceling it.
Mirrored IllusionAfter repairing Generators for a total of 50 %, Mirrored Illusion activates:
– Press the Active Ability button when next to either a Chest, Exit Gate, Generator, or a Totem to spawn a Static Illusion that lasts for 100/110/120 seconds.
Mirrored Illusion deactivates after triggering successfully.
Still SightAfter standing still for 6/5/4 seconds, Still Sight activates:
– The Auras of the Killer as well as any Chests and Generators within 24 metres of your location are revealed to you until you start moving again.

These are all great Perks in their own right, but when it comes to the perfect build you’ll want to aim for something a little different. Let’s go over the best builds for Aestri and Baermar for both beginners and veterans.

Beginner Aestri & Baermar build

  • Bardic Inspiration
  • Still Sight
  • Spine Chill
  • Kindred

We’ll keep Bardic Inspiration for this beginner build since it’s rarely doomed to fail. You and your fellow survivors have a 19/20 chance to gain a boost in Skill Check progression which can help everyone get generators done quickly.

We’ll also keep Still Sight since it’s a good Perk for keeping an eye on the nearby Killer, as well as close Chests and Generators. It doesn’t have a cooldown which makes this highly useful.

There are two terrific general Perks you can get as a beginner player. Spine Chill gives you a warning when the Killer is looking in your direction, but also it increases your action speeds of doing practically anything.

Then I’d recommend Kindred just because it’s helpful when you or any of the Survivors get hooked. Anyone who gets hooked has their aura revealed to one another, and everyone can also see the Killer within 8/12/16 meters of the Hook.

Veteran Aestri & Baermar build

  • Bardic Inspiration
  • Bond (Dwight)
  • Spine Chill
  • Wake Up! (Quentin)

This build is perfect for Aestri and Baermar players who want to aid their teammates as much as possible. Bardic Inspiration stays as it’s crucial for increasing Skill Check progression for you and the other Survivors.

I also like the Bond Perk from Dwight since it reveals the auras of all Survivors within 20/28/36 meters of you. When upgraded, its distance is much farther than what Still Sight can provide you and you don’t even have to stand still to activate Bond.

Spine Chill always stays in my veteran builds just because of how OP it is to know whenever the Killer is looking your way. It’s also great to get a boost in your action speeds on whatever you’re doing while it’s activated.

Finally, Wake Up! is another good Perk for this Troupe build since it can help you and your teammates greatly once all generators are completed. It’ll reveal the auras of Exit Gate Switches within 128 meters, your aura is revealed to other Survivors within the same range while you’re opening a gate, and your gate opening speed increases by 15/20/25%.

Best Aestri & Baermar playstyle

When looking for the best playstyle for the Troupe, think about the Perks that they come with and the builds I’ve provided. They’re great support players with Perks like Bardic Inspiration, so keep in mind how you’re helping your teammates while you’re also trying to survive.

If you keep the Mirrored Illusion Perk active, you can play the Troupe as mischievous trap setters who try to toy with the Killer, which in turn helps other players survive. This method does put you in danger since Mirrored Illusion spawns an illusion of yourself which may make the Killer come after you.

Overall, your best playstyle with the Troupe Survivor is to focus on aiding your fellow Survivors while also increasing your visual abilities. Perks like Still Sight, Kindred, Bond, and Wake Up! can all help you and your teammates see key visuals better to aid you in escaping.

Now that you know the perfect Aestri and Baermar build in Dead by Daylight, you may want to know the best Vecna build if you enjoy playing Killers.
