Pack away the spandex superhero costume, SOE has announced that DC Universe Online has been delayed until early next year. The stement from SOE reads:
“SOE is dedicated to delivering the highest quality game experiences possible,” says John Smedley, President, Sony Online Entertainment. “DC Universe Online is the first game of its kind, and a truly massive undertaking — the first action MMO set in the DC Universe, the first MMO on the PlayStation 3, and the first time the entire DC Universe will be accessible to the millions of fans who are eagerly anticipating its release. As the game heads into external beta testing, this extra time will allow us to address community feedback in a meaningful way. When we get deeper into external beta, we’ll be able to share more information regarding the new launch date.”
With regards to Beta testing and pre-orders. Gamers signed up tot he beta will start receiving emails from next week and gamers who have pre-ordered and those who pre-order before November 15th will be ‘assured access’ to the beta by 30 November.
Anyone who pre-orders after the 15 November will get access one week prior to the game’s launch. and be able to take part in the special Beta ending event called the Battle of the Legends. Later this week (7 October), instructions on how to receive a pre-order Beta key will be posted on www.dcuniverseonline.com/betakey.
