The DayZ development blog received a massive update today as Dean Hall went to town detailing all the latest developments.
The update covers numerous topics such as new server architecture, clothing/inventory, character customisation, the status on testing and more. One of the main objectives for the team has been to improve the game visually over the ArmaA II mod which is very evident from the shots that have also been released with the blog. The world is richer and more detailed, the comparison shot above highlights these changes perfectly.
There is no word on a release date, it’s no doubt going to  be months away, but the team sound like they are looking to get the game out to testers as soon as possible. However, it’s “not the time to rush things” according to Dean Hall. Internal closed testing has started but no external testing has started yet.
After the debacle surround that “other” zombie survival title, it’s good to see the DayZ team pulling their socks up and getting on with the job in hand.
