Dave the Diver: Where the Currents Flow Quest Walkthrough

Dave the Diver: Where the Currents Flow Quest Walkthrough

Fighting a force of nature.

The ocean is a scary place. Untold Lovecraftian horrors, sunken ships, and unexplained currents all live beneath the waves, just waiting to sweep any unsuspecting diver away forever. Dave the Diver isn’t scared of any of these, though. He conquers the challenges of the deep blue hole with a stiff upper lip and is armed with his trusty harpoon, skewering anything in his way. However, his portly frame is rather susceptible to the will of underwater currents. You will have encountered this issue in the Where the Currents Flow quest, so if you’re having a hard time, read on for a simple walkthrough in Dave the Diver.

Before you start this mission, make sure you upgrade your tanks as much as you can afford. The quest will have Dave the Diver using quite a lot of oxygen due to various bumps and bashes. You will want to be as prepared as possible. Where the Currents Flow is an early-game mission that requires Dave the Diver to collect the equipment for the Salvage Drone.

Find where the currents flow

The first thing you need to do is actually locate the currents that hide the parts you need to collect. They are usually slightly to the right of the Blue Hole and will be at about the 60-meter mark. You can hear them as you approach. Listen out for a whooshing sound. Approach them with caution; nasty fish and fast currents will try to damage our heroic diver.

Enter the Limestone Cave with Dave the Diver

The Limestone Cave is where Dave the Diver needs to be to complete the mission. This is where things start to get a little tricky, and some fancy flipper work is in order. You will notice that throughout the cave are strong currents pushing you around the cavern. The currents will flow into sharp coral and nasty fish. However, these currents have small periods of respite that can allow you to maneuver Dave the Diver into a safe position.

My advice is to take your time and navigate the current flows one by one. Wait for it to stop, move past and to a safe zone, and then take on the next one. The route is pretty self-explanatory as you work your way through. There is only one direction to go. Be careful of sharp rocks and dangerous fish. Don’t be afraid to use the dash.

Once Dave the Diver has reached the final cavern in the Where the Currents Flow quest, you will see the three pieces of the Salvage Drone on the ground. These spots will be guarded by evil fish, so exercise caution and get rid of them before opening the crates with Dave the Diver. Once you have collected your gear, use the same technique to escape the currents and get back to the boat. Use an escape pod if you’re running low on air.
