Bandai Namco community manager J Kartje has provided another update about the Steam migration process for Dark Souls. Last we heard from him, he was suggesting the transition would occur “in the coming weeks” and probably prior to 20 December.
That target would appear to be on course, as Kartje’s latest tweet about Dark Souls’ escape from the clutches of Games for Windows Live states that details about the migration are expected on Monday (15 December.)
Update 15 December: The migration is now live, you can move Dark Souls to Steam.
Here’s his tweet:
Looks like everyone can expect details on Monday regarding Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition Steam migration!

If you were feeling pessimistic then I suppose you could interpret this as “they might announce another delay to the process on Monday,” but Kartje seems quite upbeat in his delivery of the news (exclamation mark and all,) so I’d imagine Monday will bring good news.
Character save data and achievements should transfer over as part of the process. For more details about the Dark Souls migration process, and what you’ll need to do if you’re one of the people who owns the game through Games for Windows Live (rather than the Steam library) have a read of this community post.
