As noted at the time of its announcement, the upcoming Ashes of Ariandel DLC for Dark Souls 3 will add a PvP arena to the third game. That’s along with the usual new single player story areas and bosses you’d expect from a Dark Souls DLC; but this latest trailer has a look at the arena.
It’s a brief look, mind you. There trailer is 1:50 in length, and doesn’t get around to the new stuff until about 45 seconds before the end. However, in that time it shows a bit of the arena (which looks a lot like the place you fight the final boss in the main game), and confirms that 3v3 fights will be a thing. Those little crown icons from the other Souls arenas are back, too.
Of course there might be other options beyond 3v3, but that’s what’s shown in the video. Update: The official word there is “Battle against friends or against the wide world of Dark Souls players in one-on-one duels as well as free-for-all and team-based modes for up to six players.” Dark Souls 3’s Ashes of Ariandel is coming out on 25 October.
