The official Japanese site for Dark Souls 2 has shared a couple of interesting bits about the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC. That’s the second of the Lost Crowns add-ons, and follows what turned out to be the rather excellent Crown of the Sunken King.

Here’s the dedicated Japanese page for Crown of the Old Iron King, featuring a fetching picture of the headpiece in question. If you can read Japanese then that’s all you need, but for people like myself who didn’t put in the academic effort to learn multiple languages here’s a Reddit thread containing a handy translation. User ‘Delicious_Skal’ suggests it reads something along the lines of:

Chapter 2 The Crown of the Iron King

DLC content volume 2.

At the end of Iron Keep, lies a sot and smoke covered stage called the “Tower of Black Mist”, and another challenge for one of the lost crowns.

Erected within the untrodden crater are the shadows of a glorious past.

Players who have not purchased the DLC can also be summoned to the more difficult area.

Given what we already know about these DLCs, that seems pretty accurate. It would suggest that the large tower you can see near the Old Iron King boss fight could be where Crown of the Old Iron King is based, and indicates that there’ll be another cross-DLC dedicated co-op area like Cave of the Dead in Sunken King.

The second DLC will be out on 26 August.
