Sniper Rifles are some of the biggest damage dealers in Cyberpunk 2077. And even if they’re meant for long-distance enemies, that doesn’t stop you from firing them at point-blank range. They’re also pretty versatile too and slot nicely into either a stealth or combat playstyle. But with the launch of the 2.0 update, the game’s progression system has seen a ton of changes. So Sniper Rifles behave a little differently now. Here are the best perks you can get for Sniper Rifles in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077: Best Sniper Rifle perks
The cool thing about the perks of Sniper Rifles is that they’re also for Handguns and Precision Rifles. So your perk points here will have an impact on more than just one weapon class. So if you’re weapons of choice include a Handgun and a Sniper Rifle, you’re killing two birds with one stone. In a way, it’s a bit disappointing that Sniper Rifles don’t have their own special tree, but it’s still a big improvement over Cyberpunk 2077 in the past.

You can find the perks for the Sniper Rifle in the Cool skill tree. On the left-hand side, you’ll see a branch containing all the core Sniper perks. The first one to look at is Focus which you’ll want to level up twice to get the ability. This kicks in when you aim your Sniper when the stamina bar is full. It increases headshot and weakspot damage by +10% and shooting won’t cost any stamina for 2.5 seconds. Pair this with Deep Breath and Focus will also slow down time. This is perfect for lining up those tough shots. And you may even be able to line up enemies and get multiple headshots at once. Make sure to grab all the surrounding perks here though since they’re all very good.
The next perk you’ll want to max out is Deadeye which has three levels. Deadeye increases headshot and weak spot damage again, reduces the stamina cost of shooting, and then gives you Deadeye mode. When you’re above 85% stamina, this mode will kick in and give you a +20% headshot and weak shot damage, plus no weapon spread. You’ll want to get Long Shot straight away then as it gives you full damage on shots no matter what the range is. And if you’re picking targets off from really far away, this perk helps massively. This pairs extremely well with Nerves of Tungsten-Steel which increases your damage the further away you are from the enemy.
If you’re playing with a Sniper Rifle, the likelihood is that you prefer slower or stealthier gameplay. If that’s the case, be sure to invest some points elsewhere in the Cool skill tree. There are plenty of perks for stealth here that work really well alongside Sniper Rifles in Cyberpunk 2077.
