Cyberpunk 2077: Best perks for Assault Rifles

Lock and load.

Thanks to the 2.0 update, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a major makeover in nearly all aspects. But one area that’s seen the most work is the redone progression system. Unfortunately for long-term players, this means that your old builds aren’t really viable anymore. And since perks have been completely redone, you can’t just revert back to what you used previously. So, let’s cover what the best perks for Assault Rifles are in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077: Best Assault Rifle perks

Assault Rifles are one of the better classes of weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 due to their versatility. But the major weakness that these weapons have usually centers on recoil, reload speed, and now with 2.0, stamina cost. Without any perks, Assault Rifles are still very good weapons, but with the right choices, they can truly be incredible.

For perks, we need to look at the Reflexes skill tree. On the left side of this skill tree is where we’ll find the perks for Assault Rifles in Cyberpunk 2077. And if you take a quick peek at them, you’ll notice they mostly just make these weapons easier to handle. For starters, you’ll want to max out Ready, Rested, Reloaded. This perk reduces stamina cost for firing Assault Rifles, and at level 2 boosts reload speed when you have more than 50% stamina. You’ll then want to get each perk located around this node. But get Tunnel Vision first as it gives you a 20% boost to range and accuracy.

Then moving up, we’ve got Sharpshooter, which has three levels. Once again, focus on maxing this out first. At max level, it lets you regenerate stamina on every successful shot. And since Assault Rifles require a lot of stamina to fire consecutively, this perk helps a lot. The skill to prioritize then is Salt in the Wound. This perk is a little confusing to read, but it essentially gives you a massive damage bonus on your seventh consecutive shot on an enemy. So, this perk will hugely benefit Assault Rifles with high fire rates.

The perks on offer here for Assault Rifles in Cyberpunk 2077 are admittedly a little boring on the surface. But again, these weapons are already really good and it doesn’t take much to make them better. Focusing on these perks will make shooting these weapons much easier and you’ll be glad you invested the time in them.
