The new update for Cyberpunk 2077 has introduced a new passive skill leveling system. It quietly ticks along in the background as you perform certain tasks, slowly improving your gameplay and abilities. However, it isn’t properly introduced, and once understood, it can be really quite beneficial to your build. The various skills in Cyberpunk 2077 need to be explained to be fully taken advantage of.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. Skills explained
The skills are broken down into 5 different sections, each one aligning with a certain playstyle. You may find you level them up without trying, but as you progress, they will become trickier to accomplish.
Headhunter skills
This skill can be leveled up using a lot of the moves you would expect from a silent assassin. Headshots, silenced weapon takedowns, and the use of thrown weapons all contribute to this skill leveling up in Cyberpunk 2077. Using knives, pistols, precision rifles, and revolvers, all also helps you improve this skill.
Leveling it up will increase your headshot and critical shot damage, help you stay stealthy, and improve your crouched movement speed.
Netrunner skills
Netrunner skills are for the technically able. One of the quickest ways to level this skill up is by using and then defeating enemies with quickhacks. Simply uploading them is beneficial, but to get the most XP towards the skill, you should also kill them.
Using smart weapons and jacking into access points are two more ways to improve your Netrunner skills.
Leveling up the Netrunner skill will improve your cyberware-based talents, such as RAM level and hacking speed.
Shinobi skills
Shinobi is all about the lethal ninja weapons. So, defeating enemies with assault rifles, SMGs, chainswords, katanas, machetes, and mantis blades will all contribute to your Shinobi skill tree in Cyberpunk 2077. And, of course, no ninja would be complete without mad climbing skills. Jumping, dashing, and sliding all also contribute to the skill tree.
Climbing this tree will give boosts in things like movement, dodging, and attack speed.
Solo
The Solo skill is actually a great one to level up as it increases health, carrying capacity, and close-range damage. However, it can really only be leveled up with melee, LMGs, Shotguns, and other close-range weapons. This means if you’re playing stealth, you may end up missing out on a lot of the very helpful skill buffs.
Engineer
The engineer is kind of the culmination of whatever the rest of the skill trees in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 missed out. It helps to buff lots of odd little things as you progress, like health item efficiency and armor, but also helps with charged bolt shots.
To level the skill up in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, you can perform a lot of different actions such as: using the Projectile Launch System or grenades, causing damage over time, using the Overload quickhack, crafting and disassembling weapons, and using tech weapons and bolt shots.
