Cult of the Lamb is a roguelike game that was released earlier this year offering a fun, cult-raising take on the formula. Roguelikes have been more common in the last few years, with examples like Dead Cells and Hades, but Cult of the Lamb presented a engrossing spin on this thanks to its system of gathering followers. Players take control of a possessed lamb and must build up a community of creatures and structures to fight off enemies and evil cult leaders on a randomly generated. Now, developer Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that the Blood Moon Festival has begun in Cult of the Lamb, and it’s only here for a limited time.
The Blood Moon Festival is a limited-time event that began in Cult of the Lamb yesterday, and a new trailer for it can be seen below. Players will need to be quick, however, as the event and its associated new content will only be available until November 10.
The blood moon rises
The developer describes the Blood Moon Festival event as follows: “Under the light of the Blood Moon, devotees can harvest pumpkins to unlock a brand new ritual that will raise former members of their cult, casting them back to the land of the living as wandering spirits.” When players capture the former cult members, they will receive new follower forms and decorations.
In summary, the Blood Moon Festival includes the new Blood Moon Ritual, three new unlockable Follower Forms, four new unlockable Base Decorations, and one new music track. Fans of the game will likely be pleased to gain some new content, but we hope that some more substantial DLC is also in the works for players who want more interesting reasons to return to the game.
Cult of the Lamb is currently available on PC via Steam and GOG. The Blood Moon Festival event will end on November 10.
