Crysis 2 Writer Attacks Halo Writing

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Crysis 2’s lead writer, award-winning novelist Richard Morgan, has taken a poke at the Halo franchise.Following on from his attack on Modern Warfare 2’s “implausible plot,” Morgan has now attacked one of the other huge series out there.“I don’t like the Halo series at all,” Morgan told NowGamer, before correcting himself. “Okay, Halo is not actually bad, it’s just, you know, average.””The reason that its fiction doesn’t work has nothing to do with the fact that you don’t get to see Master Chief’s face, it’s because of lines like ‘Okay… I’m gonna get up there and kill those guys.'”Halo is full of these bullshit archetypical characters and there’s no real emotional effect,” Morgan concluded.Morgan can certainly talk, but will his work on Crysis 2 show everyone how to do it right? We’re hoping so, and we’ll find out when it launches later this year.
