Time to lock and load, Siege fans. Crimson Heist, the first season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 is now live on PC. Those who have the Battle Pass will be able to dive in and try the new operator immediately. If you don’t currently own the Battle Pass, you gain access to all the content, including the new operator Flores, on March 30. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to experience it ahead of schedule. Ubisoft is giving players a chance to try Crimson Heist in Rainbow Six Siege by making both free to play for a week starting March 18.
As mentioned, the new operator coming with Crimson Heist is the attacker, Flores. You can arm him with his two primaries, the AR33 Assault Rifle or the SR-25 Marksman Rifle. He also comes with a stun grenade for clearing rooms, and a claymore to set in wait for enemy operators.
Flores’ unique ability is the RCE-Ratero Charge. It’s basically a drone loaded with explosives. When used, Flores can send the drone to a location, watching its progress through a video feed. Once you find the prime spot for some fireworks, you can trigger it, causing it to cling to a surface before activating a bulletproof shell. It explodes after a couple of seconds. It’s kind of gnarly, to be honest. Ubisoft’s official Rainbow Six Siege site has more on Flores, including background info. You know, for the juicy lore — or Flores. Right.
Nothing better than free
To celebrate Crimson Heist and Flores joining Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft is letting you play it free this weekend. On March 18, the game and heist go free until March 25. That should be ample time to try out Flores’ travelling death bomb. During the free week, Ubisoft is putting the game up for sale at 70% off, though the final amount depends on the game version. The company is also going to host a one-hour livestream showcasing Crimson Heist. It starts on March 18 at 1:30 PM ET over at Ubisoft’s Twitch channel.
