Cliffe was arrested and booked at 1:17 AM local time into the King County Jail and the police have refused to comment on whether any harm has come to a child. Prosecutors have told Kiro-7, who have been following the story throughout the day, that typically when someone is booked on these charges they are involved in creating child pornography.

Cliffe does not have a criminal history and his girlfriend said she was concerned about Cliffe and the charges. Valve declined to comment on hearing the news as it broke locally. However, this evening Valve released a statement.

“We are still learning details of what actually happened,” said Valve’s Doug Lombardi. “Reports suggest he has been arrested for a felony offense. As such we have suspended his employment until we know more.”

A bail hearing is expected on Friday afternoon when more details of the charges will be released.
