Let’s face it, at one point in time, most of us have played the Pokémon games. Some remember those childhood memories fondly, and others continue playing the next-gen games and various spinoffs (such as CCGs) throughout the years. That brings us to Temtem which does, at times, remind you of Pokémon. The main difference is that it’s an MMO game. As such, you’re expected to interact and battle with a multitude of players in Temtem‘s Airborne Archipelago.

Lawrence checked out Temtem a week before its arrival as part of Steam’s early access program and he noted some similarities. However, in his preview, he also noticed some glaring flaws such as extremely linear paths and unavoidable trainer battles just so you could reach Temtem‘s “temporiums” — sort of like the game’s own version of a Pokémon Center.

But, that was during Temtem‘s “stress test demo.” Some of these quirks and mishaps could eventually get ironed out given that the game is still in early access. Logan also has a detailed guide providing you more info about which Temtem starter to pick, their effectiveness, and evolutions. More Temtem guides will follow shortly, so stay tuned.
