Conan Exiles is a game that has done surprisingly well where many other ’80s action franchises have not. Perhaps it is because of the developer’s design approach to the popular survival game genre. Maybe the Conan franchise serves as an ideal theme as well. It’s likely a combination of both, but Funcom clearly needs to keep up what it’s doing, as the game is a blast to play and looks gorgeous. The latest expansion looks to be no exception, either. Isle of Siptah introduces an entirely new region to Conan Exiles, offering plenty of new adventures to be had.
The expansion is set on a mysterious island, where massive storms and great surges of sorcery have dominated for centuries. It’s up to you to find out how and why these phenomena take place. There’s a legendary sorcerer that could have a role in all of it, but there’s only one way to find out for sure. In addition to the main questline, there are new dungeons to explore, 14 vaults, new monsters and mounts, unique building sets, and plenty more.
A new age for barbarians
In fact, Isle of Siptah is just a part of what’s new in Conan Exiles. Along with the expansion, it officially released into Early Access on Steam, meaning there are plenty of improvements to the base game as well. The patch notes are extensive, but there’s everything from QoL improvements, to progression rebalances, and PvP tweaks. We suggest you check them out if you want a better measure of what to expect before jumping in.
Isle of Siptah is just the beginning of more content coming from Funcom. The expansion retails for $19.99 USD. The developer also noted that the base game is on sale compared to its eventual full release price. Conan Exiles is expected to officially release in 2021, so your money will provide you with plenty of fun for some time.
