THQ has announced that “the frozen frontlines” of Russia will be included in the upcoming Company of Heroes 2.
Russian sections will focus on “some of history’s most brutal and devastating conflicts”, which some levels putting you in charge of the Red Army as you battle against the “Nazi invaders”.
Furthermore, the publisher has described the game as a “true sequel” to the 2006 original.
The game uses Relic Entertainment’s Essence 3.0 engine, which promises:
Technological advancement to the strategy genre
Dynamic Battle Tactics
Increased graphical fidelity
Environmental destruction
Greg Wilson, Producer at Relic Entertainment commented, “Company of Heroes 2 is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology while retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroes such a success.”
