Developer Sim 155 were attempting to raise £70,000 for their upcoming combat flight sim Combat Air Patrol 2 but frustratingly the campaign failed to take off. Having only raised £3,345 of the goal, the campaign closed.
Thankfully that’s not the end of the story as Sim 155 are ploughing ahead with development stating:
“Please don’t fret! We went into the campaign with our eyes open, we knew that being so close to an Early Access release might hinder things. We will be focussing on building the CAP2 community through our other channels in the run up to release so please keep spreading the word.
“Thanks so much for all of your pledges, feedback and support and rest assured you will be playing CAP2 in the next couple of months! If you haven’t already done so, please head over to our website and submit your email address to stay updated.”
This is really great news. Combat Air Patrol 2 is one of those Kickstarter campaigns that should have attracted more attention because the game looks cracking and there’s not exactly a massive amount of combat flight sims to choose from these days.
There is a Steam Greenlight page up for the game and you can keep up to date with development progress on the official website. To demonstrate how good this looks, the latest video to be released shows some aircraft carrier take off gameplay.
