Cliff Bleszinski has hit Twitter this evening with a tweet indicating that he’s unhappy with Epic Games trying to steal his employees.
CliffyB’s new battle royale game Radical Heights launched this week (see our first impressions), and although it’s still very early in development and is very rough, it could turn out to be promising as far as battle royale games go. Radical Heights is competition for Fortnite, but it’s nowhere near close the same level of polish at this stage.
However, both are quite cartoony and quirky and the main difference is that Radical Heights is on Steam and still early in development. Fornite, on the other hand, is more polished and still improving but it’s also not on Steam and has still managed to pull in a huge audience.
It’s hard to tell if this is an attention seeking publicity stunt or not but CliffyB appears to be quite happy to air his views on this subject publically.
Update: Ex-employee responds.
Hey @epicgames, could you please stop trying to hire away my team? We just launched @Radical_Heights on #UE4 and are really happy with how it’s going. pic.twitter.com/pe2DoZNuRq
