2K Games has announced that Firaxis’ Civilisation V is now a part of the Steam Worskshop family.

Just like with Portal 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, that means players of Civ V can plunder Steam’s mod library for new editions to the game.

Jason Holtman, Steam business development head said:

Civilization V is a fantastic addition to the Steam Workshop. We hope that the Steam Workshop will provide another avenue for the many talented Civ V mod creators to have their work seen and played by millions of Civ V fans.”

As well as add mods to your game, Steam Workshop lets you subscribe to your favourite mod creators, comment and rate mods and share mods you like with your friends.

In related news, the Civilisation V: Gods and Kings expansion is due early next week on 19 June.
