There isn’t any clear indication as to when everyday life might return to normal. Companies have started to respond to people being at home, offering discounts on things like games to help pass the time. For gamers, this has been a blessing, allowing us to finally chip away at our cluttered backlogs. It has also been a test of discipline to not buy everything available at a discount right now. Ubisoft is finding some middle ground, as it is now offering titles such as Child of Light and Ghost Recon Breakpoint for free on its Uplay launcher.
How to get them
If you’re just wanting to download Child of Light for free and call it a day, you just need to visit its Ubisoft store page. Well, that, and you’ll need to create an account with Ubisoft’s Uplay in order to download the game. This free download starts today and ends Saturday, March 28. If you don’t want to go through the registration process and would much rather buy it on Steam, it is also on discount there. That storefront will run you a little over five bucks to get it.
Ubisoft has also made adjustments and updated some of its content releases in response to more people being stuck at home. Now Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be free for this weekend, starting March 26 and going until March 29. New content was recently added, tying in Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell franchise. The DLC promises seven hours of content and includes rewards, like Fisher’s 4th Echelon Goggles and the SC-IS HDG weapon.
Child of Light is free to download on PC from the Ubisoft store at this time. Ghost Recon Breakpoint will start its free period tomorrow, on March 26. But even if these aren’t your first choice, Uplay currently has other discounted Ubisoft titles. Sadly, this extended spring sale will end later today. But until then, you can get quite the deal on titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or The Division 2.
