Now that the storm has cleared, there’s a lot of infrastructural damage around the island, but Wattson is aiming to restore its power. Let’s dive right into these new features and changes.

Apex Legends: Storm Point map changes in Season 19

The main focus for Respawn this Season was to add a ton of new points of interest (POIs), and reduce the overall map size to make it feel a lot tighter. This was done to improve the fun factor and mid-game pacing.

Also, a few areas were reworked, like the Forbidden Zone and Lightning Rod. Let’s go over all the changes and new POIs revealed for Storm Point in Apex Legends Season 19.

Wattson’s Pylon

After the massive storm damaged Storm Point and took away the power, now the city of Suotamo has no energy. Luckily, Wattson volunteered to help bring back the power with Wattson’s Pylon, in collaboration with the Syndicate.

The goal with this new POI was to create a new enticing hot drop for early combat. Inside the Charge Tower is a Gravity Cannon that’ll launch you right into the reworked Forbidden Zone. What’s cool is that at the top floor is Wattson’s room, if you want to take a peek.

Echo HQ

The ECHO structures are probably familiar to avid Apex Legends players. But this one is a much larger headquarters on the coast where Gale Station used to be.

It has a large interior, alongside some maintenance tunnels around its exterior. The exterior is quite busy with tinier buildings and plenty of structures to take cover behind.

In Respawn’s efforts to reduce the overall map size, it decided to pull in the coastline and create Coastal Camp. The broken remnants of Ship Fall are washed ashore and all along the coast.

This area, once a lot larger, is now much tighter to be better connected to other POIs. Nearby you can find Wattson’s Pylon and Echo HQ.

Devastated Coast

The storm really ravaged this specific area, hence the name of this POI. The Devastated Coast contains the ruined remains of the Fish Farms. There’s one main wall set up to protect this river from any future flooding.

What’s neat is one of the buildings suspended in the air by a crane, which gives a nice height advantage in combat. Smaller buildings of what’s left of the Fish Farms litter the ground as well.

To help Wattson restore power to Storm Point, we now have this brand new building, alongside Ceto Station. There are four enormous energy rods with crackling electricity beaming between them.

Respawn wanted this POI to make dropping near the higher side of Storm Point more attractive. There’s also a sneaky little rotation point going through the mountain all the way to Lightning Rod.

Ceto Station

Now with Prowler Island gone, Ceto Station has taken over. Respawn stated that this new POI would hopefully lessen the high traffic that used to go through Prowler Island with the PVE action.

There’s one large energy rod that powers this little station, alongside some smaller buildings. Ceto Station being in the middle of Storm Point should still make it a nice hot drop.

Sadly, the storm hit this area pretty hard, but the destroyed fence made the Prowlers able to run away. Finally, the Prowlers are gone, but there are still vital structures in place.

Respawn reworked this area to remove the Prowlers, but also to provide structures for better defensive points. Hopefully this makes the Forbidden Zone a nicer POI.

Lightning Rod

Lightning Rod

One other huge rework Respawn focused on was Lightning Rod. Unfortunately, Lightning Rod had a low drop number. This reworked area is a lot more reduced, as there’s now a huge gap with land missing between one of the mountains and the island.

This will hopefully make Lightning Rod feel a lot less spacious and more connected to the other POIs. Just nearby is Zeus Station, so I can already tell this POI got a lot of improvement.
