Fortnite has transcended with the release of Chapter 5 Season 1, and while players are busy checking out LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, the final mode added this season, Fortnite Festival, is a packed time.
However, players who remember Rock Band and Guitar Hero will want to use their instrument controls, and there may be a workaround.
Fortnite Festival: Can You Use Instrument Controls?
The rhythm game Fortnite Festival is now here, and for those who don’t know, it was developed alongside Harmonix Music Systems, the developers behind Rock Band. With the brains behind the beloved rhythm gaming genre working their magic into Fortnite Festival, the game mode has been a blast thus far, but it’s missing something.
This is the ability to use old instruments from Rock Band and Guitar Hero, as there’s been mixed reception into players using them thus far.
While you may see on TikTok, that some creators use a workaround method to get these instruments to work, we aren’t too sure about the legitimacy of these solutions. So, for the time being, Fortnite Festival does not support any instrument controls. However, Epic Games has noted that they’re working on the feature to be added relatively soon, and they’ve noted ” it’s a priority for the team and currently under development. We’ll have more to share in 2024.”

With this announcement, we can also potentially see Fortnite-branded instruments become purchaseable when the compatibility issues are sorted out in 2024.
This may come in the form of a guitar or even a set of drums, which would be amazing to see, especially after experiencing them on Rock Band back in the day. However, we’re just speculating for the time being, so be sure to check back for when instruments are going to become useable within the Fortnite Festival.
