Can you steal Marco’s ship in Starfield? Answered

Will you be fortunate, son?

Playing Starfield, you will eventually come across the Freestar Collective. In their questline, you’ll come across the rich and infamous Marco. At the end of the chase where you’ll be dragged up some pretty impressive heights, you’ll set your eyes on his ship, the Fortuna. The Fortuna is an immensely luxurious ship, with many features that put every other ship to shame. It’s a Bethesda game, so your first thought definitely was ‘Can I steal that?’ Don’t kid me. It is a good question, however. Can you steal Marco’s ship in Starfield?

Can you steal the Fortuna in Starfield?

Unfortunately, you cannot steal the lucrative ship. The two-floored giant doesn’t even have a cockpit. Even nefariously, you couldn’t trick the game into giving it to you, as it isn’t rendered in the code as a ship, but as a structure, like any other building or landmark.

The fact that it has a second floor also makes it impossible to replicate in your own ship-designing processes, so it is truly a feature that you’ll be missing out on. I guess you’re not so fortunate, son (sorry).

However, you can return every now and then to loot the place. It will become fully staffed and stocked, just without Marco. If you can’t take the ship, why not everything else?

I personally think that it is such a missed opportunity to disallow players from having two-floored giant ships. It could have been an awesome late-game accomplishment, to invest in your own floating palace. We can only hope that the modding scene or a future update caters to our needs.
