Can you romance more than one companion in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The prayers of all you polyamorous romancers have been answered, you can indeed romance multiple companions at once in Baldur’s Gate 3! Although, making your companions like you, and like each other, can be a difficult task. Some may prefer to be monogamous with you, while others are open to the idea of multiple romances. It really depends on your dialogue choices, and how well you get to know these characters.

You’ll have to experiment and figure out whether or not you think the polyamorous romance is going to work. For example, Shadowheart and Lae’zel nearly hate each other, so I wouldn’t think they would be keen on polyamory together. But perhaps Karlach and Astarion, or even Halsin and Shadowheart could work.

How do you romance multiple companions in Baldur’s Gate 3

Like in real life, there are a lot of steps in romancing someone. This especially applies to getting into a relationship with more than one person. In Baldur’s Gate 3, multiple opportunities come your way to fall into a romance with a character.

These scenarios will usually only happen if your approval meter is high enough with them, or you’ve progressed enough in the game. Make sure to take Long Rests often to progress the story between characters, most of these events happen at camp. Otherwise, here are some tips for romancing multiple companions.

  • Making dialogue choices that they approve of.
  • Analyze their conversations and notice if they like each other.
  • Get intimate with them at camp.
  • Talk to them often and explore all dialogue choices available.
