Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor allows you to purchase permanent upgrades, but can you respec them? Most games with skill trees or upgrade systems will allow you to respec in some way.
What if you purchase an upgrade that you regret, or you want to rearrange all your upgrades? I’ll explain whether or not you can respec in this DRG spin-off.
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor: Can you respec upgrades?
At this point in time, you’re unable to easily respec upgrades in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, but you can reset your save data and progress. If you’re certain that you don’t like any of the upgrades you’ve made in DRG:S, there’s a way to reset it.
Unfortunately, this means resetting your entire save data in the game. This will take away all your unlocked Classes, Class Mods, and Biomes. But this will also reset your permanent upgrades. I wouldn’t really call this a respec mechanic, since there’s no way to easily reallocate upgrades. You can find this option by heading to the gameplay settings and selecting “Delete Save Data.”

Currently, DRG:S is in Early Access, so perhaps in the future Funday Games will introduce an actual respec mechanic. It’s unfortunate that the only way to respec is to reset all your progress, but at least it’s an option.
On February 14, a developer explained on the Steam discussion forum how this progress reset works, as they didn’t have this option in the demo. So it seems that Funday Games is working to add new features constantly. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a better respec option become available.
So for now, just be careful about where you allocate your upgrades. There are currently 12 different permanent upgrades available, and we have a guide on the best to unlock first.
