A new multiplayer racing game including your favorite Disney characters has just released. Disney Speedstorm is in Early Access, and allows you to race against people online or your friends. If Mario Kart is one of your go-to multiplayer games, you’ll also probably enjoy this one. You can play as characters such as Mickey, Belle, Mulan, and many other iconic Disney characters. But if you’re wondering if you can play split-screen multiplayer on Disney Speedstorm, we have the answer.
Does Disney Speedstorm offer split-screen multiplayer?
Luckily, the answer to if you can play split-screen multiplayer on Disney Speedstorm is a yes! But there are some specifics that you’ll need to understand. If you’re playing on Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One, your local split-screen is minimized to only two players. Perhaps this is because they are older-generation consoles, but it is still a little disappointing to hear. Nevertheless, if you’re playing on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S, you can play with four players on split-screen.
If you want to try out split-screen multiplayer, head to the Local Freeplay mode through the main menu. From there, you can choose which track you’d like to play, the specific part of the track, and alter the rules. But of course, this game includes an online multiplayer mode that even includes cross-play between consoles and PC.
For now, we’re not sure if the split-screen multiplayer will improve to four players on last-gen devices. The game is in early access after all and is available to purchase now until it goes free-to-play sometime in the next six to 12 months.
If you can’t wait until then to play Disney Speedstorm, you can purchase either the Standard, Deluxe, or Ultimate Bundle. Each comes with its own perks, but if you want the cheapest avenue to play multiplayer split-screen Disney racing, get the Standard Bundle.
Disney Speedstorm is available via Steam.
