Can you play Moonstone Island on the Steam Deck?

Steam Deck lovers constantly have to question whether their favorite games are playable on their favorite handheld system. Although the Steam Deck is meant for Steam games, there are certain games that are fully compatible and others that may not work well. If you want to play Moonstone Island, wondering whether or not you can play it on the Steam Deck, we’ve got an answer for you.

Is Moonstone Island Steam Deck compatible?

This cozy, deck-building, creature-collecting game is available on Steam, but what about Valve’s portable system? Luckily, you can definitely play Moonstone Island on your Steam Deck! It has the highest verification level, meaning it’s perfectly playable on your Deck.

Moonstone Island has the Verified level, so you should have practically no issues with it. Certain games at the Playable or Unsupported level are still okay to play, but you may have to change some settings. When I booted up Moonstone Island on my Steam Deck, I didn’t have to mess with any of the settings. It honestly runs great, and I can say for certain that it plays much better on the Steam Deck than on PC.

That isn’t to say you can’t enjoy Moonstone Island solely on PC, but I find it a much better experience on a portable device. Also, it only takes up under 400 MB of storage, not even a gigabyte! Even if you have the lowest-model Steam Deck, you should have no issues finding space for Moonstone Island.

I also found that my Deck barely got hot when running this game, and the fans were extremely quiet. I did experience some issues with random freezing, but that happened on PC, too. Overall, it’s nice to know that right from its release, Moonstone Island is fully compatible with the Steam Deck.
