A really cool feature in CS:GO was the ability to play left-handed. Since CS:GO is officially offline for good and we now have Counter-Strike 2, or CS2, does it have a left-handed option? In this guide, your CS2 left-handed questions will be answered.

Does Counter-Strike 2 have left-handed options?
At the time of writing this, there aren’t left-handed options in Counter-Strike 2. This is a long-standing feature, a feature lefties loved since it allowed them to comfortably play the game they loved. However, for some reason, Valve hasn’t put a left-handed option anywhere in Counter-Strike 2.
In CS:GO, you could easily equip the left-hand viewer model by opening the console commands and typing “cl_righthand 0.” Once that was done, you’d automatically make your character a lefty, which was great if you’re a lefty in real life. In my research, I’ve discovered that you can’t input and use this console command in CS2.
CS:GO veterans and new players alike are disappointed and frustrated that Counter-Strike 2 doesn’t have a left-handed option. It doesn’t make sense that Valve would remove that option from the game. All it did was make Counter-Strike a more accessible game.
Will there be a CS2 left-handed option in the future?
I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Valve puts a left-handed option in their first or second Counter-Strike 2 patch. Nothing has been confirmed or denied, so we can hope for a left-handed option in CS2 and continue to complain in the meantime to raise awareness for this egregious sin.
On the flip side, Valve may ignore all the CS:GO lefties and not include a left-handed option in CS2. There will likely be CS:GO mods that will fix Valve’s error of not putting a left-handed option in Counter-Strike 2, but for now, it’s nothing but bad news for lefties who want to play Counter-Strike 2.
