Call of Duty MW2: How to unlock Dual Kodachis

Slice and dice with honor.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 02 included a total of four additional weapons as part of the update. One of these new weapons is the Dual Kodachis, which are the first new melee weapon to be added to MW2 since launch. This is our guide on how to unlock the Dual Kodachis in Call of Duty: MW2 and Warzone 2.

How to unlock the Dual Kodachis in MW2 and Warzone 2

The Dual Kodachis are melee weapons based on the Japanese sword of the same name. They were used by samurai during feudal Japan as alternatives to the iconic katana. Despite sharing a lot in common with the katana, the kodachi sacrificed length and reach in favor of superior handling and mobility. It’s a thematically fitting weapon given Season 02’s Path of the Ronin event.

As with most weapons introduced in Modern Warfare 2, you can unlock the Dual Kodachis through the Battle Pass. These swords are unlocked in the middle of the Battle Pass found in the B13 sector. The shortest route to completing B13 requires a total of 25 Battle Pass tokens to unlock. This will take a little while to work through, as there is no concrete method of getting through the Battle Pass quicker.

As for other methods on how to unlock the Dual Kodachis, there currently aren’t any. However, if the past weapons are anything to go by, developer Infinity Ward will probably add a post-season challenge to unlock it once Season 02 ends.

These post-season challenges are usually quite easy to complete and require less grinding than working through the battle pass. Although that comes at the cost of not being able to use the Dual Kodachis in competitive matches until Season 03. Season 03 is not expected to start for at least two months after Season 02.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 can be purchased on both Battle.net and on Steam.
