Call of Duty is now a Con

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

A convention, that is. Why, what did you think I meant?
Yes, chuffed with the general success of BlizzCon, Activision has decided to hold a Call of Duty XP 2011 event. It’ll take place in LA on 2/3 of September and tickets will cost $150 apiece.
Before you cry scandal on that number, 100% of the money will be going to the non-profit charity organisation Call of Duty Endowment – which helps US veterans find jobs after leaving the military. I wish the Call of Duty titles were actually about a US veteran trying to deal with post-traumatic stress and returning to normal life, but sadly they’re about killing foreigners instead.
Anyway. What kinds of thrilling things will you be able to get up to at CoDCon? Well, there’ll be a first chance to play around with Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer mode, a CoD tourney with $1,000,000 USD of prize money and … err … a real life ‘Burger Town’ to eat at.
Tickets go on sale from 19 July.
