Call of Duty (COD) The Haunting: How to defeat UFO in Operation Nightmare

Here's the UFO location and how to defeat it in Call of Duty Operation Nightmare.

The UFO is a boss exclusive to Operation Nightmare in Call of Duty The Haunting. Every time I’ve launched into Al Mazrah, it’s in the same location and available from the beginning. Here is how to find and defeat UFO in Call of Duty Operation Nightmare.

In my experience, UFO is always found southeast of Sawah Village. It won’t ever be in another location because when you start the UFO encounter, the water clears away and the sea floor with its sunken cargo ships becomes the arena. This can’t happen anywhere else on the Al Mazrah map.

If UFO isn’t there on your tac-map, another team has already defeated it. You need to survive a bit longer, maybe go for a different boss, and come back when it has respawned. That or exfil and launch into another Operation Nightmare lobby to start from scratch.

  • Call Of Duty Operation Nightmare Ufo Second Phase

UFO has three phases. The first phase is the one blue orb over the ocean phase. This part is easy — all you have to do is shoot it. It won’t move and won’t shoot you, so take your time and make sure there aren’t enemy Operators in the area.

How to defeat the one blue orb

A pro tip I recommend you use to tell if enemy Operators are nearby is to look for red bullets flying toward the blue orb. Those are bullets from other Operators, so either join their team or take them out.

How to defeat the three blue orbs

After dealing enough damage to the blue orb, it will split into three orbs. The ocean will part, which is your cue to enter the arena. The three blue orbs move around and shoot at you.

Their attacks pack a punch, so I recommend hiding when they begin shooting. For weapons, I recommend using a sniper rifle or RPG to take down the blue orbs. They are hard to hit because they move around a lot, but when they are stationary, a sniper or RPG can make quick work of the orbs.

How to defeat the UFO

Once all three are destroyed, the UFO will spawn. The UFO doesn’t hit as hard as the three orbs, but if you are targeted, get behind cover. Use the same strategy — snipers and RPGs — to take out the UFO. Aim for the center to deal damage.

How to collect the relics

Once the UFO is defeated, it drops two relics. To fully check off the UFO from your monster hunting list, you need to secure both relics. These relics will be highlighted on your screen. All you need to do is go over to them and pick them up. The one I got was called Ultra Secreto and it was worth $100K.

It was at this point that enemy Operators swooped in, defeated my squad, and took the relics. However, when I was down, I asked to join their team and they let me in. After I did that, we all grabbed the relics together and got a message saying we completed the UFO boss encounter.

If you complete all those steps, you should get a message saying you completed the UFO encounter. Now, you can make your way over to defeating another boss like The Butcher.
