Fans have seen the Nuketown map in various past Call of Duty titles. This year is no different, with a 1980s style version of the map being released into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. According to a new leak, Nuketown ’84 is set to get a Christmas makeover in time for the holiday season. It is not a surprise that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is adopting the festive spirit. Most recently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019 had Christmas themed gunfight maps with snowballs.
The prominent Call of Duty leaker, known as CODColdWarNewz on Twitter, has shared an image of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Christmas Nuketown ’84. As you can see, this version of the map is dark. However, it is lit up by various colorful Christmas lights accompanied by some festive wreaths and tinsel that are dotted around the map.

In addition, another Call of Duty leaker, WarzoneNewz, encountered a bug which displayed the Nuketown ’84 Christmas decorations. Here, you can see that the inside of the buildings are also heavily decorated. The iconic busses are joining in with the festivities, too. In the clip, a huge red Christmas tree can be seen to complete the festive look.
Its Christmas in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
The Christmas decorations only seemed to appear because of a bug. This could be the unfinished version of the map as it did not have a dark sky. With the festive season just around the corner, you will not have to wait long to play the map for yourself. Who knows, Treyarch could add a sprinkle of snow to Nuketown ’84. Currently, it is unknown if Treyarch have any more plans to bring Christmas to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Perhaps, the first ever battle pass will celebrate the holiday season.
