Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 performance patch appears to downgrade textures

Nothing quite like a weekend patch to brighten your day. A new patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has landed on Steam which “includes bug fixes and performance improvements.”

Treyarch appear to have gone about tackling performance issues in rather novel way by downgrading the textures. To demonstrate what’s happening with the textures, Joker fired up the game in multiplayer, and while the performance does appear to be better, the textures appear to be popping in an out. The single player textures have remained unaffected as further testing revealed.

This could be a mess up with this particular patch and we’ll have to wait and see what happens when another update lands on Steam.

Have you noticed this while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 today?
