Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 officially reconfirmed

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

As surely as the sun follows the rain, so a new Call of Duty will follow the old every November from now until the end of eternity. The latest, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, has pretty much been an open secret for the last few months, but has now been confirmed (or reconfirmed, if you like) by the UK version of the Call of Duty countdown site.
It may be back on lockdown now, but for an extended period that site was showing quite a few details, including this pre-order blurb: “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”
The trailer (which is due to air during some NBA games here in the US) was also closed off, but a still from the footage appeared to show people being evacuated from a burning Los Angeles.
A release date of 13 November for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 was also confirmed.
